​​My practice embraces a gentle, curious approach. You lead our work together, going at a pace that's right for you. I am a trauma-informed therapist, which means I approach therapy with an understanding of how trauma can impact a person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Using an integrative model (utilising different elements from different types of therapy) means we can customize the therapeutic experience to suit you as an individual, working together to ensure you receive the most effective support on your journey. In a safe, warm and inclusive space free of judgement, together we can explore whatever difficulties are troubling you right now. I will work alongside you to support your growth and help you achieve your full potential.

What is therapeutic counselling?
Therapeutic counselling is a process that you engage in with a professional therapist that is built on trust and respect​, aiming to empower you to achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life. This is achieved via the therapeutic relationship between you and the counsellor.
Who is it for?
Therapy is for anyone looking for support in navigating life's challenges, regardless of belief, ethnicity, gender or sexuality. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply looking to better understand yourself, therapy provides a safe space for exploration and growth. It's not just for those in crisis; many people find value in therapy as a proactive step towards personal development and well-being. No matter your background or circumstances, opening the door to self-exploration via therapy can offer valuable insights to enhance your quality of life.

What sort of issues do you work with?
I work with many different concerns, some of which include:
Loss and bereavement, identity, gender and sexuality, self-harm, family issues and estrangement, low self esteem, general and social anxiety along with depression and low mood.

What can I expect during my initial session?
Should you choose to work with me, our first session will be about getting to know one another, to see if we both think we are a good fit and to decide how we might best work together. I like to get an overview of how you are currently managing in day-to-day life and to see which areas might need a little extra attention/support. The first session is also for me to answer any questions or worries you might have about the therapeutic process, so that I can hopefully put your mind at rest. I do tend to take notes in our first session so it may feel a little formal, but subsequent sessions do not generally involve me sitting in front of you with a clipboard!

Do you only work online?
The majority of my work is based online Monday to Wednesday, though I do offer some in-person sessions on a Thursday in Alvechurch. I also offer hybrid when requested, working with a blend of online and in-person sessions.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are £60 payable in advance to secure your time. Cancellation within 48 hours incurs 50% of the fee, less than 24 hours notice incurs the full fee.

Will I cry?
You might, and that's okay! Crying can be a very therapeutic way to release stress and emotion.
